T & C Tower (Tuntex & Chien-Tai Tower) Tayvan'da Kaohsiung kentinde 85 katlı bir gökdelendir. Toplam 348 Metre uzunluğa sahiptir. Binanın tasarımı Kaohsiung'un Çince baş harfi olan Kao (高) harfinden esinlenmiştir.37 ile 80. kat arası otel olarak kullanılmaktadır. Otel adı Splendor Kaohsiung Hotel'dir.

Amerika Bankası Binası

ABD'ye bağlı Atlanta'dadır. Yüksekliği 312 metredir ve dünyanın 23. yüksek gökdelenidir. 1992 yılında tamamlanmıştır. Yapımı 14 ay süren bu gökdelen Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo & Associates tarafından tasarlanmıştır.

Malezya'da Petronas petrol holdingine ait ikiz kuleler. Toplam 452 m yükseklikle başkent Kuala Lumpur 'da gökyüzüne yükselirler.1996 yılından, 2003 yılındaki Taipei 101 binasının inşasına kadar, birçok gökdelen listelemesinde, Dünya'nın en yüksek yapısı olarak kabul ediliyordu. Ancak en yüksek katı 378 m, çatısı 403 m olan bina için bu sınıflandırma çok tartışmalıdır. Tarihi

Atina, eski çağlardan beri, çeşitli saldırılar karsısında birçok defa yıkılmıştır. İlkin Persler, sonra Romalılar, Haçlılar ve Osmanlılar tarafından zapt edilmiş ve kıymetli eserlerinin pek çoğu başka yerlere taşınmıştır. 1458 yılında Fatih Sultan Mehmed tarafından alınarak Osmanlı sınırları içine katılmış, 1829 yılında imzalanan Edirne Antlaşması ile Yunan bağımsızlığının tanınması üzerine Yunanistana bırakılmıştır. 1832 den beri bu devletin başşehri bulunmaktadır.

Yunanistan adı antik İyonya'nın (bugünkü İzmir, Aydın, Manisa bölgesi) Arapça ve Farsça söyleniş şeklinden gelir.

Orta Çağ'da Bizans İmparatorluğu ve sonra Osmanlı Devleti dönemlerinde Romalı anlamına gelen Rum adı kullanıldı. Bu isim bugün daha çok Kıbrıs'nın güneyi, İstanbul ve Ege'deki Yunan asıllı halkı ifade etmek için kullanılmakta, Yunanistan'da yaşayanlara sıkça yapılan bir hata ile Yunanlı denilmektedir. Bunun yerine hem bu milletten olan kişiyi ifade etmek hem de Yunanistan'a ait olduğunu belirtmek için Yunan sözcüğü kullanılır.

HAWAİİ

Hawaii ya da Havai, ABD'nin eyaletlerinden birisidir. Kuzey Büyük Okyanus'da, anakaradan 3.700 kilometre uzaklıkta, bir adalar grubudur.M.Ö. 1000 sıralarında diğer polonezya adaları tarafından işgal edilmiştir. Yaklaşık 800 yıl boyunca çeşitli kabileler buraya yerleşmiş, huzur içinde kültürlerini ve dinlerini devam ettirmişlerdir. 1778 yılında İngiliz Deniz Kaptanı Jam Cook, Hawaii takımadasına yelken açmış ve ilk Avrupa-Hawaii ilişkisini yaratmıştır. Yine de tarihçiler bu adaya Avrupa'dan ilk gidenin bir İspanyol olduğunu tartışırlar. Avrupa ile ilişkiler sonucu bazı krallar tüm Hawaii adalarının kontrolünü almaya çalışmışlardır. Örneğin, ünlü Kamehameha Avrupalılarla ticaret yaparak onlardan barutlu silahlar elde etmiştir. Hawaii'de bilinmeyen barut teknolojisi sayesinde Kamehameha yavaş yavaş tüm adaları işgal edebilmiştir. Ona karşı çıkan bazı kabileler, oklarla ve mıraklarla kendi ülkelerini koruyamadıklarından, çareyi yüksek uçurumlardan atlamakta bulmuşlardır. İntihar, onlar için teslim olmaktan çok daha iyi idi.

Son diktatörlükten sonra bir cumhuriyet kurulmuş, ve dış ülkelere kapalı olan Hawaii ticareti, dünya ekonomisine katılarak üretimini ve ticaretini büyük ölçüde geliştirmiştir. Lübnan Sorunu
Lübnan, karışık dini yapıya sahip bir devlet olmasına rağmen sosyal yapının gerektirdiği politik dengenin kurulmasıyla, Ortadoğu'nun en düzenli ve yaşam koşulları oldukça yüksek olan ülkelerinden biri idi.
Ülke istikrarı, Arap-İsrail çatışması sonucu Lübnan'a gelen Filistinliler'in çoğalmasıyla bozulmaya başladı. Özellikle 1970'lerden itibaren Müslümanlar, demografik üstünlüğü elde ettiler ve bu üstünlüğü egemenlik faktörüne yansıtarak ülke yönetiminde Hristiyanlar kadar söz hakkı alma mücadelesine başladılar. Sonuçta; ülkede başlayan Müslüman- Hristiyan mücadelesi, 13 Nisan 1975'den itibaren iç savaşa dönüştü.
1975-1991 Lübnan İç Savaşı; Lübnan, Suriye, Mısır, Kuveyt ve Suudi Arabistan devlet başkanlarının 17-18 Ekim 1976'da Riyad Toplantısında aldıkları kararlarla yeni bir boyut kazandı. Bu antlaşmanın üç ana unsuru şöyle idi:
a. Lübnan'da 21 Ekim'den itibaren ateşkes yürürlüğe girecek ve savaşan taraflar, 1975 Nisan'ından önceki hatlara çekileceklerdir.
b. Lübnan için 30. 000 kişilik bir Arap Barış Gücü teşkil olunacaktır. Bu güç esas itibari ile Suriye askerlerinden oluşmuştur.
c. FKÖ gerillaları Lübnan'da kalmaya devam etmekle beraber, Lübnan'ın egemenlik ve güvenliğine saygı göstereceklerdir.
Bu sonuncu şartı birçok FKÖ gerillası kabul etmedi. İsrail de bunu bildiğinden, Litani nehrine kadar olan Güney Lübnan topraklarını kendi kontrolü altına alıp, bu toprakları kendisi için "Güvenlik Bölgesi" ilan etmiştir.
İsrail kuvvetleri daha sonra Beyrut'u kuşattılar ve bunun sonucunda, Filistin Kurtuluş Örgütü Lübnan'ı terk etmek zorunda kalmıştır. FKÖ unsurları, Lübnan'a çıkan Amerikan, Fransız ve İtalyan askerlerinden oluşan 2. 000 kişilik Barış Gücü himayesinde, 21 Ağustos 1982'de Beyrut'tan ayrıldılar.
FKÖ'yü Lübnan'ı terke muvaffak olan İsrail, 1985 yılında kademeli olarak bölgeden çekilmeye başladı, İsrail'in çekilmesi Müslüman - Hristiyan mücadelesini tekrar başlattı. Bunun üzerine, Suriye Lübnan'a müdahale etmek için harekete geçti. Ayrıca, İran da dolaylı olarak müdahaleye katıldı. 1989 yılı sonlarından itibaren ise, FKÖ tekrar Güney Lübnan'a yerleşmeye başladı. Sonuç olarak; 1970 yılında başlayan Lübnan sorunu ve 1975 yılında başlayan Lübnan iç savaşı, çeşitli aşamalardan geçti. İç savaş Lübnan'da çok ağır maddi hasara ve can kaybına yol açtı. Savaş 1991 yılında resmen sona erdiğinde Lübnan ve Beyrut bir harabeye dönüşmüştü ve 150.000 Lübnan'lı can vermişti. 1992 yılından itibaren İsrail ile FKÖ arasında başlayan olumlu gelişmeler üzerine de olaylar şiddetini kaybetmeye başladı. Fakat, Lübnan, 1976 Riyad Antlaşması ile bölgeye 30 bin kişilik bir askeri güç göndermeye muvaffak olan Suriye'nin belirli ölçüde eyaleti durumuna geldi. Ancak 2005 yilinda patlak veren ve Basbakanin da olmesiyle sonuclanan kriz sonrasi bir cok askerini geri cekmistir.
12 Temmuz 2006 tarihinde başlayan 2006 İsrail-Lübnan Krizi'nde İsrail’in hava saldırıları sırasında Lübnan ve Beyrut kenti, özellikle güney kısmı ağır hasar görmüştür.

Türkiye-Lübnan İlişkileri
Lübnan eski bir Osmanlı toprağı olmasına karşın 20. yüzyılda ilişkiler çok sınırlı kalmıştır. Son dönemde Türkiye, Lübnan ile olan ikili ekonomik ilişkilerini arttırma gayreti içindedir. 2006 yılında 1 milyar dolarlık bir ilk hedef belirlenmiştir. Bu hedefe 3 yıl içinde ulaşılması öngörülmüştür. Lübnan 2001 yılında Sözde Ermeni Soykırımı'nı tanımıştır ve tanıyan tek müslüman ülkedir.

12. yüzyılda Amstel ırmağının kıyısında bir balıkçı köyü olarak kurulan Amsterdam, bugün Hollanda'nın kişi sayısı bakımından en büyük, kültürel ve parasal yönden de en önemli kentidir. Kentte 2005 sayımına göre 742.209 kişi yaşasa da, bu sayı çevresiyle birlikte 1,5 milyonu bulur.
Özellikle Amsterdam'da bulunan Dam Meydanı çok ünlüdür ve dünyanın bir çok yerinden ziyaretçi akınına uğrayan bir yerdir.
Amsterdam, çoğunlukla 17. yüzyıldan kalma yapılarıyla, Avrupa'daki en tarihsel kent dokularından birini barındırır. Kentin eski bölümü iç içe geçmiş ay biçimindeki kanallardan oluşur. Turizm
Amsterdam, en çok ziyaret edilen 5. merkezdir. Yıllık 4.2 milyon turist ülke dışından Amsterdam'a gelir. 17 5-yıldızlı otel, 350 otel, toplamda 45 bin yatak kapasitesi bulunmaktadır. Şehirde birçok müze bulunmaktadır. Bunların en önemlileri Rjiks Museum diğeri ise Van Gogh Museum'dur. Amsterdam bisiklet-dostu bir şehirdir. Şehirde bisiklet yolları ve bisiklet park alanlarıyla "bisiklet kültürü"nün geliştiği bir merkezdir.Şehirde 1 milyon bisiklet bulunduğu tahmin edilmektedir.Ancak bisiklet hırsızlığı oldukça yaygındır. Bu yüzden bisiklet sahiplerinin büyük kilitlerle bisikletlerini hırsızlara karşı koruma eğilimi vardır.Şehir içinde araç kullanmak tercih edilmez. Çünkü park ücretleri oldukça yüksektir, ayrıca birçok cadde ve sokak araç trafiğine kapatılmıştır. Toplu taşıma otobüs ve tramvaylar ile sağlanır.Şehirde dört metro hattı bulunmaktadır, beşinci hat ise yapım halindedir.Şehir kanallarında deniz taksi ve deniz otobüsleriyle toplu taşıma yapılır. Turistler küçük teknelerle kanallarda şehir turu attırılır.Amsterdam, 1932'den bu yana Hollanda'da otoyolların ana merkezidir. Amsterdam Schipol Havalimanı, Amsterdam Ana Tren İstasyonu'ndan trenle 20 dakika kadar uzaklıktadır. Hollanda'nın bu en büyük havalimanı, Avrupa'da dördüncü, dünyada onuncu sıradadır. While I’d really love to see one of these yachts in person some day, I have my doubts that will ever happen after looking at these concept renders. The whole thing looks to me like a grade 4 drawing assignment where the teacher asks you to design your own boat if you had an unlimited budget. Except of course here the color stays inside the lines.
The WallyIsland which is apparently still under development was designed with the idea of making a luxury yacht that was longer rather than taller in order to fit more amenities. Besides being more stable and cost-effective it also provides for an extremely large deck space. (Just over 10,700 square feet.) The boats will all be custom built of course which means you can configure that deck space any way you’d like. The company suggests such items as a swimming pool, tennis court, a garden with full-size trees or even a helipad. The back of the yacht is almost as spacious but seems to be reserved for storing two smaller sailboats as well as two additional powered boats that can be raised or lowered into the water via a pair of heavy-duty cranes.
Not surprisingly there is no list price for the WallyIsland at this time but I have requested a review unit so please check back later after I’ve had a chance to really put this craft through its paces..

Tarihçe

Bu küçük ülkenin tarihi 963'te kont Siegfried'in Lütteburg kalesini kurdurmasıyla başlar. 15. yüzyılda 4 Kutsal Roma Cermen İmparatoru Lüksemburg'dan seçilmiştir. Bunlardan I. Karl, Lüksemburg'u 1354'te dükalığa dönüştürmüştür. 1443'te Bourgogne Hanedanının eline geçen ve yüzyıllarca yabancı ülkelerin egemenliğinde yaşayan dükalık Bourgogne Hanedanından Marie'nin Avusturya imparatoru I. Maximillian ile evlenmesi sonucu Habsburglara geçmiştir.

Lüksemburg Büyük Dükalık Sarayı
Habsburgların bölünmesi ile Lüksemburg ailenin İspanyol koluna geçti. 1684'te Fransa kralı XVI. Louis tarafından ele geçirildi. 1697'de Habsburgların geri aldığı ülke 1794'te yine Fransız işgaline uğradı. 1815'e kadar Fransız egemenliği altında kalan ülke Viyana Kongresi'nde bağımsız bir Büyük Dükalık olarak Hollanda'ya geçmiştir. 1830 ayaklanmasından sonra Belçika'nın bir parçası haline gelmiştir.
Fransız İmparatoru III. Napoléon'un ele geçirme girişiminin başarısızlığa uğramasından sonra 1827'de bağımsızlığa kavuşan Lüksemburg Büyük Dükalığı büyük devletlerin himayesi altına alınmış ve 1868'de üstünde birçok değişiklikler yapılmasına rağmen günümüzde de aynı geçerli olan anayasa kullanılmaktadır. O tarihten itibaren yansızlık politikası uygulamasına karşın her iki dünya savaşında da Alman işgalinde kalan Lüksemburg, 1947 Mart'ında Belçika ve Hollanda'yla iktisat ve gümrük birliği Benelüks'ü oluşturmuş, 1949'da NATO'ya, 1957'de Avrupa Ekonomik Topluluğuna üye olmuştur.
Başkenti Lüksemburg 2007 Avrupa kültür başkenti seçildi. Ayrıca kişi başına düşen yıllık millî gelirde dünyada ilk sıradadır (81.000$ 2006 tahmini). Diğer ülkelere nazaran zengin bir toplum olması, ülke topraklarının küçük olması ve çekirdek bir ülke olarak yaşaması ile doğru orantılıdır.

Las Vegas şehri eskiden denetimden yoksun bir mafya şehri olmuştur ancak günümüzde 1,5 milyona yaklasan nüfusuyla muhteşem ve bir o kadar da legal bir şehir halini almıştır. Las Vegas günümüzde dünyanın en pahalı oteli Wynn Hotel'e ev sahipliği yapmaktadır, Wynn Hotel'ın yanısıra değeri milyar doları aşmış birbirinden güzel onlarca hotel içindeki inanılmaz şovlar ve aktivitelerle turistler için her zaman gözde mekan olmuştur. Yaz ayları oldukça sıcak geçmekle birlikte, sıcaklığın yer yer 45 dereceyi geçtiği gözlenmekte ancak nem oranının düşük olması hissedilen ısının fazla etkili olmamasını sağlamaktadır. Las Vegas en çok dünyaca ünlü kumarhaneleri ile bilinmektedir. Uzun süre kalmaya yerlisi olmayanların tahammül edemeyeceği bir atmosferi vardır.
Nevada eyaleti tüm Amerikan Birleşik Devletleri'nde kumarın ve fuhuşun yasal olduğu tek eyalettir. Ayrıca Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nde mevcut olan en katı uyuşturucu yasalarına sahip olan eyaletlerden biridir.

Roma Krallığı

Krallık; Efsaneye göre Romayı Romus ve Romulus kardeşler kurmuştur ki Roma imside buradan geldiği açıktır. Eski çağ tarihçileri, Roma krallığının başlangıcı olarak M.Ö. 753 tarihini verirler. Etrüskler, üzerinde egemenlik kurdukları Latin köylerini birleştirip roma kentini kurarken yerli halkı kentin kurulmasında zorla çalıştırmışlar. Bu durum iki toplumun arasını açmış. Latin halkın zamanla güçlenen aristokratları, bir bucuk yüzyıl sonra ayaklanarak M.Ö. 509 yılında Etrüsk kralını kovmuşlardır.

Roma Cumhuriyeti

Roma Cumhuriyeti Antik Roma medeniyetinin cumhuriyet ile yönetildiği dönemdir. MÖ 509 yılı civarında monarşinin kaldırılmasıyla başlamıştır. Cumhuriyet dönemi 500 yıla yakın bir süre devam etmiştir. Roma Cumhuriyeti'nin tam olarak ne zaman Roma İmparatorluğu'na dönüştüğü yoruma göre değişir. Tarihçiler bu dönüşümün geçekleştiği dönemi belirleyen olaylar olarak Jül Sezar'ın MÖ 44'te daimi diktatör seçilmesini, Aktium Savaşı'nı (2 Eylül MÖ 31) ve Roma Senatosu'nun 27 Ocak MÖ 27'de Oktavius'a olağandışı yetkiler vermesini gösterirler.Ne var ki o dönemde Roma vatandaşları cumuriyetin kalktığının farkında değillerdi. Julio-Claudian hanedanına mensup ilk imaparatorlar her ne kadar ellerindeki olağandışı yetkilerin güvencesi altında da olsa cumhuriyetin hâlâ varolduğunu ve günün birinde eski haline kavuşacağını savunuyorlardı. Roma MS 3. yüzyıla kadar ismen cumhuriyet olarak kaldı.

Cumhuriyetin Kuruluşu

Krallara karşı isyanın tarihi olarak MÖ 509 yılı kabul edilir. Bu tartışmaya açık bir konudur. Ulusal gururdan kaynaklanan sebeplerle Romalıları özgürlüklerini Atina'dan önce kazanmış gibi göstermek için Romalı tarihçilerin cumhuriyetin tarihinde değişiklikler yapmış olmaları mümkündür.İlk konsüller kralın baş rahiplik dışındaki görevlerini devraldılar. Baş rahiplik görevi için Romalılar bir Rex sacrorum "kutsal işlerin kralı"nı seçiyorlardı. Rex sacrorum Senato üyesi olamıyordu. Cumhuriyetin son günlerine kadar nüfuz sahibi bir kimseyi "Rex" yani "Kral" olmayı istemekle suçlamak o kişinin kariyeri açısından tehlikeli bir iddiaydı. Her yıl Mart ayında bu bölgede düzenlenen ve yaklaşık bir milyon kişinin katıldığı Calle Ocho festivali Kübalılar'in geleneklerine sadık kaldıklarını gösterdikleri bir festivaldir.

Coconut Grove

Miami'nin birçok yeri gibi kendine özgü renkliliği ve canlılığı olan bu bölge yıl boyu değişik festivallere ev sahipliği yapmaktadır. Bölgede bulunan Miami Museum of Science and Space bilime ve uzaya merakı olanlar için bulunmaz bir yerdir. Coral Gables

Key Biscayne

Miami'nin en güney ucunda bulunan Key Biscayne'de beyaz kumlu sahillerin yanı sıra bisiklet ve doğa turları yapabileceğiniz Crandon Park ve Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Recreation Park isimli iki büyük park bulunmaktadır.
